Friday June 2nd, 5-7pm: Trunk Show/Potluck/Book-signing
Norah is bringing a try-on trunk show of projects from her recent book, Knitted Cable Sourcebook (we will have books available for purchase). This is a free, no-sign-up-needed event. Just bring yourself, your questions and perhaps a dish to share!
Saturday June 3rd will feature two, 3-hour classes:
9am-12pm: Knitting 2 Sided Cables
Learn how to knit 2 different types of 2-sided cables. The first looks great on both sides because it is built of ribbing and the second has a different cable on each side. Knitting from a chart is a necessity in this class but you can learn as you go.
Suggested skill level: intermediate. Materials to bring: Medium-weight yarn (Dk or Worsted) and a range of appropriate needle sizes; cable needle or dpn needle. Cost: $60.
1-4pm: Playing with Polygons
From Knitting Nature and beyond, learn all the tricks to knitting garments made from hexagons and other polygons. Play with paper hexagons and pentagons to design an accessory of your own.
Suggested skill level: advanced beginner, comfort on double pointed needles or magic loop a plus. Materials to bring: Medium-weight yarn (Dk or Worsted) and a range of appropriate needle sizes; also dpns or long circular for working in the round. Cost: $60.
Sunday June 4th will feature one 6-hour class:
9am-4pm (1 hr lunch break): Make it Your Own - Cabled Cloche**
Learn some of Norah's favorite techniques while knitting her cabled hat and customizing it for yourself. You can knit the cloche as shown in the photo or substitute your own choice of cables from Norah Gaughan's Knitted Cable Sourcebook.
**Class begins with a one hour lecture on designing cables - how one idea leads to the next. If you'd like to attend the lecture only, from 9-10am, please note when you sign up, and cost is $20 for lecture only.
