FUN GEOMETRIC GARMENTS - Knitted or Woven with Norah Gaughan

Explore the design possibilities of sweaters made with rectangles, triangles, circles, or half circles. From finding inspiration to testing an idea with fleece to taking your idea to the next level, Norah takes you through her design process and shares her current obsession with making innovative garments (yet wearable) garments where fit isn't a big issue. Learn how to make modern garments with geometric shapes, then drape new ideas in polar fleece and customize your design to fit. Class Supplies: 2 yards of solid colored polar fleece, scissors, permanent markers, duck tape, graph paper, pencil, eraser.
PLAYING WITH STITCHES with Norah Gaughan

Norah will describe her process of coming up with new pattern stitches and talk about the process involved in designing the final product. Explore taking a pattern stitch and making it your own. Students who aren't ready to alter pattern stitches or make up their own can focus on finding the perfect pattern stitch for their chosen yarn.
SURPRISE YOURSELF Try on Traveling Trunk Show with Norah Gaughan

You probably look great in styles you never thought you would look good in. It’s not easy to imagine how great a new shape, will be on you. The answer is to try it on! We’ll begin with a try-on trunk show with several sizes plus some flexible fit garments. There are always many pleasant surprises and it’s a lot of fun. You’ll come away knowing which shapes are good for you and what changes you’d make to it personalize the it for you The second half of the time is open for questions. Do you have a project you’d like advice on? We’ll sit down together and learn form each other’s projects.
