It's Raining New Designs

Norah Gaughan

Everything seems to happen at once. Three of my designs have been published in the past 2 weeks. I didn’t plan it that way, but the best laid plans…What better month to bombard knitters with new ideas than October?

Designed as part of the Vest in Show Collection, organized by Brooklyn General Store, Casola is making its debut at A Woolen Affair in Kingston NY on Friday I won’t be there, but if it’s journey with the USPO went well Casola will be in The Little Fox booth along with the many glorious colors of Little Fox Kitson. Casola is a seamless, top-down cardigan vest with a sideways yoke construction. The yoke is composed of garter stitch and brioche in stripes. The Body is knit in (single color) brioche with artfully placed garter stitch insertions.

Juniper is a collaboration with Purl Soho. Cropped cardis are having a moment and I love wearing them with long shirts or dresses. Remember though, that you are boss of your knitting. Make yours longer or more oversized or slimmer, to suit your style.

Don’t forget Rhea, a return to knitting in pieces, with a fun twisted stitch pattern. There are only two seams, a great opportunity to practice mattress stitch. (Mattress stitch is your friend!).Scroll down to read more about Rhea in an earlier post.

If you’d like to check out Baa Ram Ewe’s Woodnote Aran (used in Rhea) or any Fairmount yarns, use my affiliate link and I’ll get little something if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you.
