June 19 (THURS, 9 AM–4 PM)
Join renowned master knitter, author and designer Norah Gaughan as she takes you on a deep dive into her Knitted Cable Sourcebook, exploring the fascinating world of cables (many of the cables in the sourcebook she designed herself). In this exciting one-day workshop, Norah will guide you through reading and understanding cable charts, and teach you how to recognize the trajectory of cable stitches; she will show you how one idea leads to another when working with cables, and encourage you to imagine how you might explore cables in a project of your own. With the aid of a template Norah will provide, you will then design your own cabled hat or top-down cabled yoke pullover and get started knitting it: as you watch your richly textured fabric form in your hands, you will feel the pride that comes from expressing yourself in a garment you have imagined and then knit yourself.
