Free Expression Cables
A fun, creative approach to learning how to make up new cables. Instead of starting with a chart, pattern while knitting. Students will play with making their own free form cable pattern. Bring cable needles or dpns. 3 hr
Twisted Stitches
The How & Why & Making Up New Cables. Forming either mini cables or diagonal lines, these versatile little crossed stitches are made without a cable needle. the variety of patterns you can make with them is endless. learn the ins and outs of how to work right twists and left twists (including a perfected left twist), pick up some pointers on creative inspiration, then begin making up patterns of your own design. Bring pencils and good erasers! 3 hr
Make It Your Own - Patterned Yoke
Do you love knitting from the top down? Do you love the idea of designing your own cabled yoke cowl, poncho, or even sweater without having to do the hard part? Begin by choosing from the variety of textures or cables Norah has designed and practice on a cowl. Learn how to easily maneuver details like sleeve length, body shape and neck finishing to suit your own likes and quirks with Norah's fill in the blanks template. Bring a variety of knitting needles for knitting swatches along with a cable needle or dpns. 3 hr
Knitting With Linen
Learn to love linen. It's a great fiber to wear, but there are a few tricks to knitting with it. The focus will be on great stitches, variants on dropped stitches, extended stitches and modern bold lace that show shows linen to its best advantage. Washing, blocking and the importance of swatches are key topics as well. 3 hr
