FRIDAY All Day: Cable Design Workshop

Explore innovative cable crossings and “drawing” with cables. Norah will show you how, by using a few different types of cables as building blocks, you can design an infinite number of cables. With that knowledge you will then practice putting cable symbols to paper. You will design your own Ogee shaped motif, further personalize it with the fill of your choice, then test it out by knitting it.

SATURDAY AM: Creative Geometric Design

Explore Norah’s take on the artistic side of designing, from inspiration to stitches, swatches, and sketches. After an overview of the design process and Norah’s creative philosophy, the class will divide into several teams to work on the planning of mini collections.

SATURDAY PM: Knitting Polygons

From Knitting Nature and beyond, learn all the tricks to knitting garments made from hexagons and other polygons. This intriguing little shapes can transform your knitting into beautifully shaped pieces of art. Make modifications to form a new polygon and make your knitting unique!

SUNDAY AM: Design Your Own Cabled Yoke
Norah is famous for her ingenous and elegant cabled yoke sweater designs – and she’s ready to pass her secrets on to you! In this class you will begin with learning how to tap into your sources of inspiration for your custom cabled yoke sweater. You will also practice drawing your own cables, and how to use your desired cables in a yoke template. The class will finish with instruction on placing your yoke into a “plug-and-play” pattern in 6 sizes – everything you need to create your own, unique garment.
